I can’t say that I’ve ever had a Black man’s back just because he’s Black. Just as I wouldn’t expect a White woman to do it either.

As women, both Black and White, we need to do a better job of owning our voices, not just reflecting the ones around us.

The only standard I’m holding White women to (which is the same standard I hold everyone to) is this idea of “let’s just all be friends” without doing the work to heal the pain that caused the conflict in the first place.
